| Would like to start pre-clear no later than 7:15 so if you can, please be there by 7p est so we can get a quick start and clear some of the trash so that when the rest of the raid shows up, we can get right to cracking some skulls. |

| Tonight was fun, both the people i invited said they had a great time. Geartop was a fun new experience and while Brinda was not a slamdunk i think it shows something that we regrouped and went back in. And i have no doubt we learned a lot from the experience. I look forward to next time. /smile |

Yeah, that was definitely a fun time
I didn't see a strat for the Doctor fight. There seemed to be a lot of prep work that some of you all had done to make that event manageable what with passwords, target identification. I'd be happy to help out with some of that stuff if you all could point me in the direction of documentation or strats. |

Yeah, the doctor fight requires a lot of hotkeys. During the 3 waves, there are 3 specific mobs that passwords must be looted from and entered into M.E.G. by targetting her and saying the passwords in the correct order. When the third one is entered, the next wave starts. You have a total of 5 mins for each wave or the event resets. On the final wave, the password person just needs to get the 3 necessary passwords and enter them to finish the event. The remaining mezzed robots despawn.
So the person doing the looting and entering of passwords needs to have hotkeys for everything. I have 20 password hotkeys, 9 target corpse hotkeys and a hotkey to target M.E.G. for a grand total of 30 hotkeys for just that event. To make matters more complicated, the names of the robots from each wave are the same, so the password looter HAS to do a /hidec npc before the next wave starts to ensure they don't loot a password from a corpse of the previous wave (I speak from personal experience). If you enter a wrong password, the event resets.
While all that is going on, a root team tries to keep Brinda stuck in the opposite corner from the raid. Otherwise the raid gets hit with huge AEs as we saw on Thursday. To win the event it is imperative that Brinda is controlled, and as the subsequent waves activate that all knights get the robots to the raid and keep them off the root team. Additionally, the MA and Password person need to stay alive. It is also preferrable that the MA has target hotkeys setup as well to speed up the targeting/looting process (which Utaldain did have).
Event specifics can be found at http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=4484 |

| wow. i knew vaguely that it was complicated, but didn't know there was *that* much to it. as melamney said - thanks, powerful! and thanks to everyone else who did the research and made it possible for mushrooms like me to be able to join in with nothing more than vague knowledge. |

One thing that really helps on this is having paladins covering brinda. With pal/druid on brinda, Paladin triggers then DA to survive the Enforcer spawns. While adds are pulled into the raid, the druid will get her snared then the paladins root her and push to the far corner. After that, you just keep a paladin down there to root on break and keep her away from the raid. Extra paladin on back up if needed.
When those two are comfortable with their roles, the event boils down to not flubbing the passwords for easy loot. |
